The race for cleanliness in Ileret continues as the TBI Committee organized for a clean-up campaign with TBI bursary students and Ileret Primary School students during their vacation period in April.

Short-distance sprint for girls’ competition

As part of the activities for TBI bursary receipients in Ileret, the students were divided into seven teams with the senior primary school students. The teams were responsible for cleaning up in various parts of the community, similar to the clean-up campaign last July. This time around, the girls were however much more involved as they not only engaged in football like the boys but had additional sports including tug of war, sprinting and long races.

The committee made a special request for clean-up materials and prizes from TBI Outreach. Fortunately, the SBU Dental team had left behind numerous gloves and masks waiting to be used, and the stationery supplies from Edie Brickel were still numerous. In addition, pieces of numerous scrap metals left behind from construction at TBI were requested by the committee to create make-shift rakes; a perfect example of recycling.
