Costs & Travel Info

Studying abroad in Kenya is quite affordable – in many cases it is the same, or a little less, than a regular semester in the U.S. Costs for the upcoming Field Education Programs will be:

Application Fee: $60
Program Fee: * $6,500
Tuition per semester for NY residents: $3,085
Tuition per semester for non-residents: $9,795
Administrative Fee $200 (non-refundable)
International Health Insurance $55 per month (approximately; must be purchased through Stony Brook University)
Other Fees $500 (approximately): Vaccinations, as per travel doctor
Travel Costs Estimated Airfare: $2000-$2,200. All student participants will travel together to the study abroad site. Students who do not abide by this policy may be dismissed from the program.

* ALL COSTS while in Kenya, including air travel to and from Turkana, will be covered by the program fee.

  • Participants will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Nairobi.
