After several months of planning, the construction of the long awaited expansion of the Ileret Dispensary has begun.

Existing Ileret Dispensary

The building contractors are currently making preparations for travel to Ileret after finalizing the agreement and plans of the new structure. Using the $40,000 donation from the Stony Brook University (SBU) Schools of Health Technology and Management, Dental Medicine, and Nursing, the expansion will include a delivery room and 6-bed ward.

With the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MOPHS) having sent a new nurse to Ileret, there will now be an assurance of medical staff precense to attend to admitted patients at all times. Supported by both TBI and MOPHS, the new nurse will be stationed at the Ileret Dispensary, while Beatrice will continue to provide needed medical care in remote villages through the TBI mobile clinic.
