The construction at TBI Turkwel continues and foundations are going in for the second large laboratory.
The foundations of the second large laboratory currently under construction at TBI Turkwel.
Work began on this at the beginning of August 2010, digging the trenches for the foundations deep into the sandy hillside. With the accommodation facilities almost completed, additional fossil storage, workshops and stores are to be constructed. Five of the six two room cottages are now completed. They are very spacious and light and each one has a great view of the river and even a breeze that blows into them. They were used for the first time during the Human Evolution Workshop at Turkwel this last August.
A few images below will give you an idea of the ongoing work at the TBI Turkwel campus. The current construction has begun on the second laboratory which will be used to store fossils and equipment . There will be and additional preparation area. The series of images below of the second laboratory were taken by Turkwel camp manager Onesmus Kyalo.
